MUSIQUES CRÉATIVES ET VIVANTES, PAR DES MUSICIENS CRÉATIFS ET VIVANTS

8tet Cabaret-Rocher - EN

8TET CABARET-ROCHER

8 POWERFUL MUSICIANS SWAY BETWEEN JAZZ, TRADITIONAL AND IMPROVISED MUSIC

L’OCTET CABARET-ROCHER is an idea conceived by the two collectives: Nautilis and Musiques Têtues, where contemporary jazz, improvisation, traditional music and grooves come together. The idea was to extend the repertoire developed by the duo formed by Etienne Cabaret and Christophe Rocher (Duo Cabaret-Rocher) to an octet, half of which is composed of musicians from each collective. The result is an open music, an “imaginary folklore” combining all the influences of these musicians.

The arrangement is structured around an ever-symmetrical structure: two saxophones / two clarinets, or even 4 wind instruments / 4 rhythmic instruments, or two harmonic instruments (guitar and accordion) versus two rhythmic instruments (double bass and drums).
